Radius Launches as a Lighter, Location-First Challenger to Meetup

Radius is a new community-organizing platform pitched on Hacker News as an alternative to Meetup.com. The launch lands amid ongoing frustration with Meetup’s organizer pricing and heavier structure, which has created appetite for leaner alternatives. Radius is clearly early-stage, and its discovery feature is location- and interest-based by design, so how it handles proximity data and user privacy will matter as much as whether it can reach the local density any meetup network needs to be useful.
